Copy Cat Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew

There are many reasons why I decided to stop supporting + handing over six dollars a coffee to Starbucks coffee company and the six dollars really was at the bottom of that list (honestly charging extra for a certain type of foam? Come on)

The switch doesn’t have to be difficult either for those who are hard core about the siren logoed coffee beast, especially when you realize how ridiculously easy some of the favorites are to make. You not only save money but a few pounds as well. The pumpkin cream cold brew from Starbucks in particular packs 230 cal for a grande + 32 grams of sugar! Not to mention the artificial sweeteners + fillers

I can get raw milks, creams and heavy creams from local friends who have cows and goats which makes coffee for me a bit more nutritionally dense, since they still have all the enzymes lacking in the pasteurized stuff in the stores. I omitted the flavored syrups that contain aspartame and acesulfame potassium that have been linked to interruption of liver communication + function and some cancers.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Cold Brew Coffee

Heavy Cream

Pumpkin Purée

Vanilla Extract

Pumpkin Pie Spice

Ice

A blender or whisk + bowl

COLD BREW COFFEE

can be purchased at the store but it can be made at home in advanced too. I make it in my French press then chill it in the fridge in a glass pour bottle. Most pumpkin spice flavored coffee is artificial, so if you're really wanting flavored coffee but want to avoid all the chemicals, I found that Peat’s Coffee has a natural flavored pumpkin spice coffee that’s organic as well!

Brew how you like, and set in the fridge to chill

PUMPKIN COLD FOAM

Ok this is where you’ll most likely become annoyed with me

Most recipes call for a specific amount for a large or multiple serving size and most of the time I’m making things on the fly, just for me. I’ll tell you what I used + how I did it, then add other bloggers measurements for reference

In my ninja cup I add the

heavy cream + a few dashes of half and half to thin it a bit. If you only add the HC it will literally turn to whip and you won’t be able to blend smooth

I added sweeter (I used stevia drops naturally flavored vanilla cream) I didn’t have pumpkin pie spice, so I added the spices individually since I had everything in my kitchen

(cinnamon + ginger + nut meg + clove) about 1/2 tsp each

I did 1 Tbsp organic pumpkin purée

Blend till thick

If you don’t have a blender or perhaps have sleeping children, you can use a bowl and whisk

Just be patient as it will take a bit longer. You can also use a hand frother.

Pour your cold brew over ice and spoon foam on top + sprinkle extra pumpkin pie spice

Enjoy saving your six dollars + the extra health
